ABOUT GICLÉE PRINTS
"Giclée" (zhee-klay) is a French word that means a spray or spurt of liquid.  Developed in the 1990's, "giclée print" connotes an image generated from high resolution digital scans, printed with archival quality pigment inks onto various substrates -- we use Arches museum quality 100% cotton rag watercolor paper, and archival pigment inks with a light fastness rating of 100 to 200 years.  The quality of our giclée prints rivals traditional fine art reproduction processes commonly found in museums, art galleries and photographic galleries.
Our giclée prints are created using a professional 12 color ink-jet printer, which sprays individual droplets of ink onto the watercolor paper at the rate of 4 to 5 million droplets per second and provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction.  This enhanced digital printer uses continuous tone technology in which infinitely small pixels of color are capable of rendering a smooth and consistent image faithful to the original work.
Because our giclée prints are produced individually, custom sizes are available on request.
